Updated: 2019-09-02

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Li Bin in Belgrade on Aug 30.

Li said the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries established in 2016 marked a new chapter in the relations between them. She said the two governments have built a higher level of trust in each other and achieved remarkable results through cooperation.

China stands ready to work with Serbia to further explore how the Belt and Road Initiative and the development strategies of Central and Eastern European countries can work together, Li noted.

Vucic extended hearty congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. He said Serbia, as China's sincerest friend, admires what China has accomplished thus far and is ready to further cooperate and exchange governing practices with China and to cement their comprehensive strategic partnership.

Li also met separately with Serbian National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic and Deputy Speaker Veroljub Arsic.
