Wang Yang meets Pakistan's senate deputy chairman

BEIJING -- Wang Yang on Monday met with Deputy Chairman of the Pakistani Senate Saleem Mandviwala, calling for strengthened cooperation and a closer China-Pakistan community of shared future.

Hailing the time-tested friendship between the two countries, Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, said that bilateral ties has maintained sound development momentum and constant progress in friendly cooperation.

"China stands ready to work with the Pakistani side to implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, maintain high-level exchanges, deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, advance the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and promote cooperation in economy, trade and investment, so as to build a closer China-Pakistan community of shared future," Wang said.

Mandviwala said that Pakistan pays high attention to participation in the Belt and Road construction and would like to work with China to advance building of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and continue to strengthen pragmatic cooperation in various fields and advance bilateral ties.
